The University of Montreal (Université de Montréal) offers the 2025 UdeM Exemption Scholarship to support international students pursuing higher education in Canada. 

The University of Montreal UdeM Exemption Scholarship is designed to support international candidates in their university studies, costing up to $21,593 annually.

In turn, the international students will help fulfil the school's educational mission by enriching the cultural diversity of the Université de Montréal community.

This initiative reduces the financial burden of international tuition fees, encouraging diverse global talent to study in one of Canada’s top academic institutions.

UdeM exemption scholarship requirements:

To be considered for the 2025 University of Montreal UdeM Exemption Scholarship, you must:

1. Be international students with valid study permits (excluding Canadian citizens and permanent residents).

2. Be admitted to a degree programme at UdeM starting in Fall 2020 or later.

3. Maintain full-time enrollment throughout their studies.

4. Not benefit from other tuition exemptions, such as those available for French or Belgian Francophone students.

UdeM exemption scholarship duration and reward

The excellence of your academic record is the only evaluation criterion to determine the value of the scholarship.

Undergraduate programmes:

• Level A: $13,740.60 annually for full-time students (30 credits).
• Level B: $6,548.40 annually for full-time students (30 credits).

These amounts are applied to tuition fees of $25,567.80 per year (30 credits).

Master’s programmes:

• Research Master’s: $15,150 annually.
• Non-Research Master’s: $10,788.75 annually.

This amount is applied to tuition fees of $29,084.40 per year (45 credits).

Doctoral programmes (PhD):

Full tuition waiver, aligning fees with Quebec-resident rates. Students can save approximately $22,908.60 annually.
