President Bola Tinubu will on Friday, March 28, participate in a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja to commemorate his 73rd birthday, which falls on Saturday, March 29.
The event will bring together fellow Muslims for a moment of spiritual reflection and supplication for the nation.
In a statement released on Thursday, March 27, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, revealed that President Tinubu would utilise the occasion to express gratitude to God for His continuous preservation and support as he leads the country.
The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu To Mark 73rd Birthday with Special Prayer at the Abuja National Mosque,’ outlined the significance of the event, highlighting the President’s deep commitment to Nigeria’s spiritual and moral well-being.
Onanuga said, “On this significant day, the President will dedicate himself to spiritual reflection and supplication for Nigeria’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity."
In keeping with his dedication to seeking divine guidance, insight, and strength in leadership, President Tinubu chose a prayer session as the way to mark this milestone.
He believes that collective prayer holds immense power in steering the nation towards progress and harmony.
President Tinubu’s birthday coincides with the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, adding a layer of spiritual significance to the occasion. It also comes just two months before the second anniversary of his administration, a milestone in his tenure as Nigeria’s leader.
The President extended an invitation to Nigerians across the country to join the prayer session in spirit, urging them to offer prayers at their places of worship or wherever they may be. This call reinforces his vision of a united nation, bound by a shared destiny.
In his statement, President Tinubu also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Nigerian people for their unwavering support and goodwill. He praised their commitment as his administration works tirelessly to implement economic reforms, bolster national security, and create opportunities for all citizens.
"I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation, As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with renewed hope for Nigeria," the president remarked.
President Tinubu further encouraged Nigerians to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for the country.
"Together, we shall overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives," he added.
Some Nigerians reacted to this:
