1. Dangote refinery eyes full production capacity, silent on crude source: The Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it has raised daily production to 85 per cent of its 650,000 barrels per day capacity, hoping to hit full capacity in the next 30 days.

Officials of the firm, however, declined to state where the plant intends to source its crude oil, as supply from Nigeria has been limited.

The Vice President of Dangote Industries, Devakumar Edwin, disclosed that plans are underway to hit full capacity in the next 30 days.

2. Reps refer two ex-perm secs to EFCC over N3.2bn spending: The Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to invite two former Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Ministry of Labour, Williams Alo and Yerima Tafa, for questioning over alleged financial mismanagement amounting to N3.2 billion.

The committee, chaired by Bamidele Salam, representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in Osun State, expressed frustration over the persistent refusal of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to honour its summons.

3. S’Court dismisses Fubara’s appeal against 26 lawmakers: The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s appeal against the judgment of the Court of Appeal affirming Martin Amaewhule as the Speaker of the House of Assembly.

A five-member panel of the apex court dismissed the appeal marked SC/CV/1171/2024 after Fubara’s lawyer, Yusuf Ali (SAN), sought to withdraw it, claiming that it had  been overtaken by events

4. MRS drops petrol price by N10 to N925/litre: MRS Oil Nigeria Plc is now selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for N925 per litre at all its stations across Lagos. 

The company announced on Monday, February 10, on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that MRS Petrol is now selling at new regional prices. The pump prices will be sold for N935 per litre in the South West, N945 in the North and N955 in the East.

5. 800 surrendered B’Haram’s militants undergoing deradicalisation — DHQ: The Defence Headquarters has revealed that 800 former Boko Haram fighters who voluntarily surrendered to the military are currently undergoing deradicalisation as part of efforts to reintegrate them into society.

Speaking on Channels TV Morning Brief on Monday, February 10, the Chief of Defence Training and Operations, Emeka Onumajuru, stated that while 129,000 Boko Haram fighters and their families had so far surrendered, only a select group had been chosen for rehabilitation.
