Famous Nigerian artiste David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, has voiced his concerns about the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as Edo indigenes go to the polls to elect their next governor.

The Grammy nominee, known for his active involvement in Nigerian politics and his support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his uncle Ademola Adeleke’s emergence as the governor of Osun State, took to social media on Saturday, September 21, to express his frustration with the electoral body, calling on the people of Edo to stay vigilant.

In a series of tweets, Davido described INEC as "the most dangerous institution in Nigeria," criticising the commission for its handling of past elections.

"Bruh @inecnigeria fix up, we can't continue like this… wtf," the award-winning musician posted.

Davido's also raised an allegation against INEC, saying they won’t transmit election results electronically, a decision he believes compromises transparency.

"We already know that @inecnigeria will not transmit results electronically, so everyone should be ready to follow the vote/result from the polling unit up until the state collation center," he cautioned.

Highlighting past experiences, including his involvement in the 2022 Osun State gubernatorial election, Davido warned Edo voters to remain alert, especially during the critical hours of collation.

"Nah that night dem Dey always strike… for Osun we no sleep for three days," he recalled, urging voters not to let their guard down.

Davido also raised concerns about potential manipulation in Edo North, alleging that results had already been written for the region.

"They have written results in Edo North... my Edo North people, no gree ooo... NO GREE AT ALL!!

"Edo people, you have to be vigilant till the very end... I mean VERY END!" he further emphasised.
