- The circumstances leading to the singer's reaction are yet to be known
- Netizens have criticised Portable’s action toward the supposed cleric in the video
Nigerian controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as, Portable has been criticised for allegedly slapping a pastor during his Instagram live.
This is not the first the singer has been called out for a controversy or the other. In 2023, Portable was arrested by the Ogun State Police for failing to comply with a 72-hour ultimatum over an alleged assault.
In a recent video trending on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, September 9, Portable was captured infuriated by a man, who is yet to be identified.
In the display of his fury for what the man did to him, he slapped the man. According to Portable’s outburst, the man was preaching the gospel close to a bar where Portable was.
“Talk. Talk if the Spirit of God is with you. You're talking to a child of God. Are you mad? That's you people go around causing chaos around here. I can secure myself. God is watching over me. I built this place with my money.
On a Monday morning, you come here and you're making noise. Before I left the house, I prayed. Before you talk to God, I have spoken to him. Are you the one that will help me talk to God?” Portable raged in the video.
Following the assault, Netizens claimed the man in question was a pastor and called out the singer for the assault.
