  • Cubana Chief Priest released a CCTV footage claiming the food critic, Opeyemi Famakin, requested that his burger be microwaved
  • He also said he was only using the review as clout
  • Nigerians reacted, some claim the video is not enough evidence, others believe it is all a publicity stunt

Cubana Chief Priest has released CCTV footage of food critic Opeyemi Famakin at Donald’s restaurant in a bid to claim that the latter asked the servers to microwave the burger he reviewed.

He also said Famakin should open a restaurant for others to review if it were that easy.

Famakin had released a screenshot of the celebrity bartender’s message to him over the review he gave on his son’s restaurant. The food critic claimed the chief priest threatened him in a direct message saying he would get karma for leaving a wicked review of his son’s restaurant.

While countering Famakin’s review, Cubana Chief Priest said he had gone to scold his staff after watching his review but was told that the food critic had asked for his burger to be microwaved.

He also released a CCTV footage of Famakin in his restaurant on his Instagram account and captioned it: “If you don’t like burger microwaved then why did you not stop them, rather you stood thereto shoot the rest of your content as you waited for them to heat up the burger as requested.

“Thought his review was honest and I appreciated it. Then went to blast my staff only for them to tell me he asked them to do so then backed it up with videos.

Just be real bro. We make mistakes n take corrections but not with this style. Everything n be content. If e easy you too try open where you go cook make we come review.”

Netizens react to Cubana Chief Priest’s CCTV footage

Some Nigerians believe the entire drama around both parties and the review is nothing but a publicity stunt for the restaurant. Others claim the video is not enough evidence that Famakin asked for his burger to be microwaved, as his voice was not heard on the video.

Here are some of the comments:

@therealdaddymo1 posted: “All na content. Plus the initial content, plus the fabricated content, they are not content with ordinary content so they cooked up this content to advertise and run a quick one on the restaurant. Well done to all involved. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤣”

@thatpoetclem posted: “Nigerians with their tiny egos no matter how successful they are. Take correction and improve, you Dey threaten nonsense. That’s one of the most balanced reviews I’ve seen, praised the restaurant well and called out an obvious problem you Dey drop CCTV.”

@iamstretch_ posted: “But wait o, content or no content I’ve not entered any fast food where Burgers were already made and on display, other pastries ofcourse Yes but Burgers No.”

@mcfc_jagaban posted: “You asked them to microwave the burger. Where is Ope's voice in the video asking them to microwave the burger? I once worked at a restaurant when I first got to America. You don't pre-made a burger. You only made it when an order is being placed. That is exactly what Opeyemi said in his review, which was right, but Cubana ego won't allow him to take into a simple correction.”

@DonCorleone707 posted: “There’s nothing in this video that suggested Ope requested it be microwaved. That overfed Teletubbies is just throwing tantrums cos his establishment was criticized.”

@special12740973 posted: “The dude wanted a content before leaving home, if not, why then did he had everything well covered with his cameraman. No use your own soil mine o…”
