The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 winter event has officially taken place on January 22, with Samsung introducing its latest flagship lineup in San Jose, California.
The spotlight was on the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25+, S25, and an all-new addition, the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung's latest flagship model, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is a powerhouse of innovation. Key upgrades include:
- Camera enhancements: A new 50MP ultrawide camera (up from 12MP) for improved image quality. The device retains the 50MP telephoto and wide lenses, offering 3x, 5x optical zoom, and 100x Space Zoom.
- Virtual aperture: Advanced software for optimised photography in various lighting conditions.
- ProVisual engine and ProScaler: Borrowed from Samsung’s TV technology, these features deliver unmatched video clarity, supporting 4K at 120fps and 8K at 30fps.

Samsung Galaxy S25+
The S25+ strikes a balance between performance and affordability:
- Design: Lighter and slimmer than its predecessor, measuring 75.8 x 158.4 x 7.3mm and weighing 190 grams.
- Display: Features a durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen with an Armor Aluminum frame.

Samsung Galaxy S25
The base Galaxy S25 offers significant upgrades while maintaining its no-frills appeal:

- Performance: RAM has increased from 8GB to 12GB, and the Galaxy's Snapdragon Elite 8 processor powered the device.

The S25 retains its 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto camera setup. While it lacks ProScaler for QHD+, it includes an Audio Eraser for enhanced video audio editing.
Available at a starting price of $800, it comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung also teased the Galaxy S25 Edge, an entirely new addition to the lineup.
While details remain under wraps, Samsung promises a device that is thinner, lighter, and just as powerful as the rest of the series.
One UI 7 and AI integration
The entire Galaxy S25 lineup runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7, introducing:
- Knox vault: Enhanced security features.
- Now bar and now brief: AI-driven summaries for personalised workflows.
- Personal data engine: Syncs with smart devices for tailored suggestions, like adjusting your thermostat based on your sleep patterns.

Samsung unveils Z Flip, Z Fold 6, Galaxy Ring
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Samsung unveiled two new phones, the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6; and three new wearables: earbuds and watches; as well as the much-anticipated Galaxy Ring.
The Z Flip 6 was equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and vapour chamber for better cooling. It comes with 12GB of RAM by default and a 4000-mAH battery. The inner screen brightness is 2,600 nits, and a 50-MP for the main camera.
