Mohamed Salah, one of Liverpool’s most ever-iconic players, has admitted that his time at Anfield might end.

The Egyptian forward, whose contract expires this summer, is preparing for what he described as his "last six months" at the club, though he remains determined to leave on a high note.

Speaking to the press, Salah acknowledged the lack of progress in contract negotiations,

“So far, yes. It’s the last six months. There is no progress there (on the new contract). We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see,” he stated.

Despite the uncertainty, Salah insisted his focus remains firmly on delivering success for Arne Slot’s side. The 32-year-old has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 20 goals and registering 17 assists across all competitions. He has already set a Premier League record by scoring and assisting in eight matches during a single campaign.

Salah reflected on his mindset amidst the contract speculation, saying,

“The thing in my head is that if this is the last six months, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was concerned or stressed about the contract? Or do you just want to say I had an unbelievable season? That’s what is in my head.”

The Egyptian talisman, who has been an integral part of Liverpool's success since joining in 2017, emphasised his motivation to help the team win another Premier League title,

“I am really motivated to win the Premier League. 90% of winning an individual award depends on your performance with the team and winning a trophy with the team. If you win with your team, you have a better chance to win a Ballon d’Or or something like that,” he added.

After eight trophy-laden years, Salah’s potential departure would mark the end of an era for Liverpool, alongside fellow stars Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are also out of contract this summer, Salah’s exit could lead to significant team changes for the Merseyside club.

Previously, TheRadar reported that Egypt’s Mohamed Salah once again proved to be Liverpool’s talisman as his brace helped the Reds to a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium. The win shot Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.

The result keeps Liverpool firmly in control of the Premier League title race, with Salah’s display once again proving his value to the team.
