  • Arsenal is reportedly ready to make a bid for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané, whose contract may expire soon
  • Sané has Premier League experience, having worked with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta during their time at Manchester City
  • His family’s preference for living in London and Arsenal’s competitive ambitions both add weight to a potential move

Premier League side Arsenal reportedly wants to bring Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané back to the Premier League, seizing on his uncertain contract situation at the German club.

With his current deal set to expire, Sané is now one of the most sought-after players for the upcoming summer transfer window. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who worked closely with Sané at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, sees a golden opportunity to reunite with the versatile winger at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta’s familiarity with Sané’s style and personal relationship could help in the pursuit. As Manchester City’s former assistant coach, Arteta witnessed Sané’s explosive potential firsthand, developing an appreciation for the winger's quick pace and technical precision within Guardiola’s high-pressing, possession-heavy system.

Sané, now more seasoned and boasting several major trophies, has the experience and skill set to instantly contribute to Arteta’s vision and will seamlessly fit into Arsenal’s tactical playbook.

Another factor that could boost Arsenal’s chances is Sané’s family’s reported desire to return to England, particularly London.

The lifestyle appeal of the UK capital alongside Arsenal's reputable standing in European football could tip the scales in the Gunners’ favour, especially as top European clubs also eye the winger.

At 28, Sané is in his prime, a combination of Premier League and Bundesliga experience making him a uniquely valuable prospect for Arsenal. His adaptability on either wing would bring depth and dynamism into Arsenal’s forward lineup, bringing the club a step closer to the offensive edge needed to compete with their title rivals in the domestic league.

The potential signing would not only strengthen the squad but also prove Arsenal’s commitment to building a side capable of challenging for major trophies.

If Bayern wants to retain the winger past this season, they’ll need to act swiftly in January to initiate contract negotiations, however, both sides currently appear far from reaching any agreement at the moment.

Arsenal prepares record-breaking £100M bid for Isak

Previously, TheRadar reported that Arsenal appears ready to stir the waters again in the January transfer market, as they reportedly prepare a substantial £100 million bid for Newcastle United’s prolific Swedish striker, Alexander Isak.

Since joining Newcastle in 2022 for £63 million from Real Sociedad, Isak has scored an impressive 36 goals in 74 appearances, yet his form this season has shown signs of waning, with only one goal so far.
