- AC Milan are planning a significant squad overhaul, and Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly one of the players set to be shown the exit door.
- Despite scoring five goals and assisting once, the winger’s inconsistency and lack of output have failed to justify his hype.
- Notably, the club is also eyeing major leadership changes, with Fabio Paratici or Zlatan Ibrahimović tipped to take on a sporting director role.
Super Eahles star Samuel Chukwueze’s journey at AC Milan may be coming to a premature end as the Italian giants gear up for a major reshuffle ahead of the 2025–26 season.
According to Italian reports, the Nigerian winger is one of several players expected to leave the San Siro this summer.
Signed less than two seasons ago from Villarreal, where he dazzled La Liga and helped secure a UEFA Europa League title, Chukwueze has struggled to replicate that electric form in Serie A.
Plagued by injuries and inconsistency, the 24-year-old has found it difficult to nail down a regular starting role under Stefano Pioli. This inconsistency has raised doubts about his future, with Milan reportedly open to offers that could facilitate his exit.
This season, Chukwueze has featured in 32 matches across all competitions but started just 11 times. Despite being available for 46 fixtures, he amassed only 1,214 minutes on the pitch, missing over 2,900 minutes of potential game time.
He managed five goals and one assist, with his standout performance coming in a domestic cup clash against Sassuolo, where he bagged a brace.
However, his attacking returns haven’t lived up to expectations. With only 13 shots on target and fewer than 40 successful dribbles all season, Chukwueze’s output falls short for a player once heralded as one of Europe’s most promising wide men.
His average of a goal every 243 minutes has does little to convince Milan’s decision-makers, especially with financial pressures mounting following their failure to secure Champions League qualification.
Milan’s anticipated squad overhaul is part of a larger reset, which may also include changes at the top. Reports suggest the Rossoneri are eyeing Fabio Paratici or Zlatan Ibrahimović for a new sporting director role, while a change in head coach could further accelerate Chukwueze’s departure.
For Chukwueze, a move away could offer a much-needed fresh start. As Milan prepares to turn the page, the Nigerian winger’s chapter in Italy appears to be nearing its end.
“We improved after Chukwueze came on,” Milan coach hails Super Eagles star after win
Previously, TheRadar reported that Dutch playmaker Tijjani Reijnders lit up AC Milan’s Champions League opener with a brace, steering the Rossoneri to a 3-1 triumph over Club Brugge at the San Siro.
The coach also admitted that it was “when Okafor and Chukwueze came on, the game changed; they brought fresh energy, and the team gained intensity.”
